Eric Richard has been licensed to practice law in Minnesota since 2000 and specializes in family law and immigration law.  Eric received his bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Iowa and his Juris Doctorate With Distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law.


While he was at the University of Iowa College of Law Eric was a leader in his law school class.  He established programs for law students to volunteer outside of the classroom as advocates for immigrants in Texas, and research support for a capital punishment program in South Carolina. For his leadership he was honored with the Erich D. Mathias Award for International Social Justice and the Phillip G. Hubbard Human Rights Award. 


After he became a licensed attorney in Minnesota Eric gained extensive experience in family law matters working for a legal aid in southern Minnesota where he advocated successfully for his clients in dissolution, child custody, order for protection, and child support cases. 


Eric also has extensive experience working for immigrants.  Eric's clients have come from many countries and continents including Africa, Central and South America, and Asia. Eric has worked or studied abroad in London, England, Nicaragua, Panama, and Guatemala.
